Insight To Help You Find And Choose The Right Temporary Housing Rental

Anytime you are planning a move, you will want to make sure you have a place to live before, during, and after the move. Sometimes you may need to move out of your current home and your new housing is not yet available, requiring you to get a temporary rental house. Here are some tips to help you in your search for a temporary housing rental to help you in your transition or move.

Evaluate Contract Length Terms

A rental house, whether it is short-term or long-term, is going to require you to sign a contract for the rental agreement. This is to ensure you will be paying rent for the specified amount of time you will live there. The landlord will require a contract agreement, which may be for a specific period of time or on a month-to-month basis.

Just be sure that you sign the right contract to cover your housing needs for the upcoming transition to your new residence. For example, if you move into a temporary rental and find out your new home being built is delayed by an extra two months due to supply shortages or bad weather, you will need to extend your rental housing by that same length.

Talk to the landlord to make sure you have the option of extending the rental agreement for as long as you need to stay there. Let them know the situation about your new residence and that the timeline for completion is constantly changing, and they can add the required clause into the contract. However, they may require you to give them a 30-day notice before you move out.

Look For Included Amenities

It is also important to look at the specific features and inclusions in your temporary rental house. Many temporary rental houses provide all the furnishings and appliances you will need but don't want to bring with you when you move in. Look at the furniture, kitchenware, appliances, and equipment that is provided with the rental to make sure it will cover your needs.

For example, does the rental have a washer and dryer, microwave, dishes, pots and pans, linens, and utilities, including internet? Having more amenities and features in a temporary rental will reduce the number of items you need to bring or set up with services when you move in, and this will make your life more simple and your final move easier.
